According to the Burnley Express, the race to sign West Bromwich Albion forward Jay Rodriguez is heating up. Amongst the Premier League clubs vying for the once-capped England international’s signature are Crystal Palace, Leicester City, Bournemouth, Norwich City and Sheffield United.
Due to a clause in the 29-year-old’s contract, the Baggies would have to let him go this summer for a reduced fee. Having impressed in the Championship last time out, interest in Rodriguez’s services is currently high.
The Burnley-born striker has impressed in the top flight in the past, and was in fine form in the second tier last time out. He notched 22 goals and six assists as West Brom reached the play-offs.

Before any of their top flight rivals can secure his services, Crystal Palace ought to swoop for Rodriguez themselves.
TBR’s view
The Eagles have struggled for a consistent goal-scoring presence up front in recent seasons, with Christian Benteke especially struggling to find the back of the net with regularity. Rodriguez’s arrival would bolster Roy Hodgson’s options in this area of the pitch.
What’s more, the West Brom man’s work rate, technical ability and versatility would make him an absolute asset to the squad at Selhurst Park. His ability to play out wide would also make him a viable rotation option who could allow for Wilfried Zaha to be rested from time to time.
All in all, signing Rodriguez would be a smart move for Palace. However, they will have to act fast to land their man.
