Yesterday, Olivier Giroud took to Twitter to announce his move to AC Milan from Chelsea, hilariously before either club had announced it themselves.
It put an end to speculation about the 110-cap France international joining either Crystal Palace or West Ham.
Calciomercato revealed that both Premier League clubs were interested.
How much did Olivier Giroud cost?
Amazingly, AC Milan managed to sign Giroud for just €2m (£1.7m).
Now, that is a complete and utter bargain for a player of his quality and experience.

Giroud is a World Cup winner, and also just won the Champions League with the Blues, who paid £18m to sign him from Arsenal.
So, for AC Milan to land him for just £1.7m is excellent business.
Will Crystal Palace and West Ham regret missing out?
Make no mistake about it, Giroud could’ve helped either the Eagles or the Irons if they signed him.
He may be 34, but the Frenchman – who has won 11 trophies throughout his career – plays with his brain, and isn’t reliant on his pace.

Giroud has also lived in London for many years now, so he wouldn’t have needed to relocate to join either club.
Especially in West Ham’s case, he would’ve complimented Michail Antonio’s pace up front quite well, in our view.
AC Milan have truly got themselves a bargain.
