Turkish website Hurriyet have claimed that Fenerbahce have informed interested parties including Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion that they will have to pay £13.5million to sign midfielder Ozan Tufan.

Tufan, 25, is in excellent form this season. The 55-time Turkey international has had a hand in nine SuperLig goals during 16 games – scoring four and creating five. He has surpassed 150 appearances for Fener, following his move from Bursaspor.

The midfielder is able to play at the base of the midfield, as well as a box-to-box central midfielder or even as a number 10. If clubs want him, he will be allowed to go for £13.5million – though West Brom and Palace face competition.

CSKA Moscow have seen a £9million bid rejected for the midfielder while Milan are also interested in signing Tufan. He has a contract at Fener until the summer of 2023 – but an exit looks inevitable.

TBR’s view – Tufan would be a good signing for Premier League clubs

What Tufan has that is different to most is his ability to play in multiple roles in central midfield. Not many, these days, can do holding midfield and the 10 role – but Tufan is capable of doing so. At £13.5million, he is a good signing.

West Brom need creativity and Sam Allardyce is desperate for something that will change the ill-feeling at The Hawthorns. At Palace, Tufan would fit in but he may find that he struggles to start more often than not.

So, does he become a rotational player at Palace or join a Baggies side who are close to relegation? A tricky decision.
