According to Foot Mercato, Crystal Palace have added Yann Karamoh to their shortlist as they look to bolster their attack.

What’s the story?

Well, the French news outlet believe Karamoh is also in the sights of Lille, whose recruitment has been superb in recent years.

The 23-year-old endured a tough campaign in 2020/21, scoring just four goals in 26 appearances across all competitions.

Nevertheless, he has still caught the eye of Lille and Crystal Palace.

Interestingly, Parma are willing to sell, and plan to speak to Lille over the phone in regards to the France Under-21 international’s availability.

So far, Foot Mercato believe Crystal Palace have only added Karamoh to their shortlist, without taking their interest any further.

Who is Yann Karamoh?

The Ivory Coast-born attacker admittedly failed to impress last season, but he was a hot prospect on many people’s lips a few years ago.

In 2018, The Sun claimed Chelsea and Barcelona wanted the Parma No.10, after he burst onto the scene with Inter Milan.

The Express even dubbed him as the new Kylian Mbappe, when writing about Arsenal and Tottenham holding an interest in Karamoh.

In our view, Patrick Vieira shouldn’t be prioritising a move for Karamoh.

The Eagles boss already has the likes of Wilfried Zaha, Christian Benteke, Michael Olise, Eberechi Eze, Jordan Ayew and Jean-Philippe Mateta.

Another forward wouldn’t go amiss, although only one.

Given Karamoh’s underwhelming 2020/21 season, Crystal Palace shouldn’t waste too much energy trying to get him to south London.
