Report: Cremonese confident they can agree Sarr loan deal tomorrow

Cremonese are confident that they can agree a deal for Pape Matar Sarr tomorrow despite Tottenham Hotspur hesitating over loaning the midfielder out, according to a report from Tuttomercatoweb.

Sarr is one Spurs player with a major question mark hanging over his future. The youngster spent last season out on loan with Metz following his move to North London.

Many would have expected that the 19-year-old would leave on loan once again. It does not appear that Antonio Conte feels that he is quite ready for his first-team plans.

However, there was then a surprise twist this week as a move to Cremonese seemingly moved closer. Reports claimed that Spurs had decided to keep the teenager after Rodrigo Bentancur sustained an injury.

But it would seem that the Serie A side are not ready to throw in the towel. Tuttomercatoweb reports that Tottenham still want to know how long Bentancur will be out for before letting Sarr go.

However, Cremonese are optimistic that they will get the green light to take him on loan tomorrow. But they are keeping their options open and considering other targets.

Cremonese confident they can agree Sarr deal

Tottenham have real depth in the middle of the park right now. Bentancur and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg have formed a brilliant partnership over the last few months.

Meanwhile, Conte still has Yves Bissouma to properly unleash. And the Tottenham fans will hope that Oliver Skipp can get back to his best upon his return from injury.

But Tottenham are now back in the Champions League. And they will hope to challenge for the Premier League title. So their squad is going to be stretched.

In an ideal world, they would allow Sarr out to let him continue to develop. But Conte will be wary of leaving himself short over the coming months.
