Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso, according to reports.
Foot Mercato recently reported that Bayern are ready to cut their losses on the Frenchman, who has struggled with injury problems since moving to Bavaria in 2017.
Arsenal are one of a number of clubs linked with a move for the player. Bild later suggested a €35 million (£30m) price-tag had been put on the player who was previously linked with a Gunners’ switch during Arsene Wenger’s reign. That price-tag has likely gone down amid the current global situation and with Tolisso’s latest injury setback. The Frenchman twisted an ankle in Bayern’s return to training this week.
So plenty of reasons for Arsenal fans to be optimistic about potentially luring Tolisso to the Emirates.
Now there is more reason.
According to Fussball Transfers, Tolisso is wanted by several Italian teams, including Inter Milan, Juventus and Napoli whilst Atletico Madrid are keen on bringing him to La Liga. But the report claims that Tolisso prefers a move to England as the next step in his career.
Manchester United were reportedly keen, before the arrival of Bruno Fernandes, leaving Arsenal with a clear open goal when it comes to his potential transfer.
Finances will undoubtedly be an issue but if Arsenal can get Bayern to come down from their current asking price, then a swoop for Tolisso is a no-brainer.
