Report: Conte dreams of signing Federico Chiesa for Tottenham
Antonio Conte dreams of signing Federico Chiesa for Tottenham Hotspur, but Calciomercatoweb claims that he would only be allowed to leave Juventus if Richarlison or Son Heung-min moved in the opposite direction.
Chiesa is only just making his way back into the Juve side after 10 months on the sidelines with an anterior cruciate ligament injury. He made two substitute appearances in Serie A before the World Cup break.
Obviously, the Italy international will be hoping to get his career back on track. And it appears that there will be figures in North London monitoring how he gets on in the coming months.
Conte dreams of signing Chiesa
According to Calciomercatoweb, Conte dreams of adding Chiesa to his ranks. It is suggested that Tottenham could look to sign the 25-year-old next summer.
Juve however, have no plans to sell Chiesa. In fact, the report claims that the Old Lady would want either Richarlison or Son moving in the opposite direction in a swap deal before they allow Chiesa to leave.
Obviously, it would be a massive shock if Tottenham allowed Richarlison or Son to leave. Son, in particular, is on his way to securing legendary status at Spurs. And last season was his best campaign yet for the club.
Richarlison meanwhile, has clearly been signed with one eye on the future, but to also take some of the pressure off of the likes of Son and Harry Kane.
There is clearly a huge question mark hanging over what level Chiesa can now reach. But if he does get back to his best, he would be an amazing signing for Tottenham.
He is a ‘fantastic‘ footballer. And he has shone in a number of roles during his time in Serie A.
A swap bid looks highly unlikely, all things considered. But perhaps Tottenham will indeed make a move should Chiesa manage to get back on track in the coming months.
