The Daily Record claim that Scottish Premiership side Dundee want to sign Conor Hazard on loan from Celtic. The report claims Celtic are aware of Dundee’s international and are willing to let him go after signing a goalkeeper. Ange Postecoglou has identified Mat Ryan as his ‘top target’.

Hazard, 23, clocked up seven of his eight senior appearances for Celtic during 2020-21 – including the Scottish Cup penalty-shootout win over Hearts. But the two-time Northern Ireland international failed to keep hold of his place in the starting XI. Vasilias Barkas and Scott Bain are options.

Dundee want Hazard on loan for a third times. He joined for a month in October 2019, and then again for four months in January 2020. Now, they want him again – but Celtic will only sanction a move when they bring in a goalkeeper themselves. Ryan is Celtic’s ‘top target’.

Ryan would be a stunning signing for Celtic – and Hazard needs a loan

It is a couple of transfers that need to happen, for all involved. Ryan needs to leave Brighton having fallen out with the managerial staff in place. A move to Celtic would suit Ryan – who has worked under Postecoglou with the Australia national team. Celtic need a commanding stopper like Ryan.

Brighton need him gone, Celtic need him and Ryan needs game time – under a manager he knows well. A move that suits all. Similarly with Hazard. At 23, he needs game time and in the top tier with Dundee suits James McPake’s side and Hazard himself. Celtic signing Ryan, and Dundee getting Hazard are deals that need to go through.
