Report: Club’s sporting director now really wants to sign £20m Leeds United star after watching him live

Inter Milan’s sporting director Piero Ausilio now really wants to sign Tyler Adams, with Gazzetta dello Sport reporting that he’s been watching the Leeds United star play live.

Adams made the £20 million switch to Elland Road from RB Leipzig over the summer and has been a standout performer in Yorkshire (Sky Sports).

The 23-year-old has adjusted to Premier League football with ease and put in some eye-catching displays under Jesse Marsch, particularly in the 2-1 win at Anfield last month.

The Leeds midfielder has carried his form into the World Cup for the USMNT and has seemingly gained an admirer at Inter as a result.

Inter’s sporting director wants Adams

Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Ausilio has been really impressed by Adams after watching him play at the World Cup.

The Inter sporting director was in Qatar to watch a number of players over the past week, including USMNT midfielder Yunus Musah. But he was ‘struck’ by Adams’ performances from central midfield.

Inter were already monitoring Adams but their interest has now enhanced after Ausilio watched him play first-hand over the past week.

Adams was a standout performer in the goalless draw against England on Friday and was the best player on the pitch against Wales just days before.

But Gazzetta notes that it will be extremely difficult for Inter to lure Adams away from Elland Road anytime soon.

The American midfielder only signed for the club over the summer and put pen to paper on a deal that runs until 2027.

Despite this, Inter want to register their interest in the player just in case there is an outside chance of him leaving Leeds.

Adams was bound to attract admirers at the World Cup, even if he had already turned a few heads with his performances in the Premier League.

But Leeds are in a really strong position as the player only signed for the club over the summer. If any side wishes to sign the midfielder over the next two years, the Whites could demand a huge fee.

It seems unlikely that Adams will be leaving Elland Road anytime soon and that’s brilliant news for Jesse Marsch, who was key to bringing him in over the summer.
