According to le10sport, Lyon want Rangers target Zinedine Ferhat to replace Houssem Aouar, who Arsenal have bid for.
What’s the story?
Well, it’s a bit of a transfer merry-go-round this one.
According to Foot Mercato, Rangers are interested in signing Ferhat, who has been shining on the wing for Nimes.
However, with Aouar’s future uncertain, Lyon could now barge in and muscle Steven Gerrard’s side out of the way.
Having said that, this is purely on the basis that Aouar leaves the Ligue 1 outfit, so Rangers could get their man if they move quickly.
It was The Sun who revealed that Arsenal had prepared Aouar a contract, which was said to be worth £100,000-a-week.
Since then, nothing has come out regarding whether or not he’s going to accept.
However, the Gunners are also said to have submitted a £17m bid for Lyon’s No.8, with a deal progressing well.
Encouraging for Rangers

It’s testament to the ability of Rangers’ scouting team that they’ve identified Ferhat.
The winger has been playing in France’s second division, but the fact Lyon believe he can replace a player of Aouar’s quality speaks volumes.
Aouar has been heavily tracked by Arsenal, and also praised by Pep Guardiola – it’s clear to see he’s a fantastic midfielder.

Even if Rangers misses out on Ferhat, Gerrard should take some positives from Lyon’s interest in him.
It shows that the Scottish champions are certainly sniffing around in the right areas.
Hopefully, they can still win the race for Ferhat, amid the Aouar saga.
