Sevilla are said to be keen on taking Tottenham Hotspur’s Erik Lamela as they think he can help win them the league title, by the Athletic.
Big ambitions
Spanish football is currently rocked by a financial crisis, and Sevilla look best placed to take advantage of Real Madrid and Barcelona’s troubles.
It may, therefore, seem strange why Sevilla are seemingly prepared to let one of their best up and coming talents join Tottenham.
Bryan Gil looks set to join Spurs in the near future, with Fabio Paratici agreeing a swap deal which will see Lamela go in the other direction.
Tottenham have saved a significant chunk of money by offering Lamela out.
And it is said that Sevilla are happy to go through with the transfer as they want more experience added to their ranks, as the plot to finish on top of the pack.
Julen Lopetuigi’s side also think that Lamela can add steel to their side, with his troublesome streak potentially being handy.
Everyone’s happy

If that is to be the case then the transfer could work out for all parties.
Lamela appeared to have little future at Tottenham, after making a limited amount of impact during his time with the club after signing for £26 million (BBC Sport).
The 29-year-old never truly managed to hold down a place in Spurs’ team, with his performances often frustrating.
Gil, on the other hand, could provide Tottenham with the spark of life that they have been looking for.
And his youthful exuberance will surely be welcomed at Spurs, as Nuno looks to build his team for next term.
