Report: Club submit £10m bid for Klopp signing, Liverpool will sell for £13m

According to La Lazio Siamo Noi, Lazio have submitted a €12m (£10m) bid for Xherdan Shaqiri, but Liverpool want more.

What’s the story?

Well, the 29-year-old could be on his way out of Anfield after an underwhelming 2020/21 campaign.

Jürgen Klopp – who signed Shaqiri from Stoke – handed the 96-cap Switzerland international just five Premier League starts last term.

As a result, it sounds like he’s now up for sale.

La Lazio Siamo Noi believe Liverpool want €15m (£13m) for their No.23.

Lazio made the offer after holding talks with Michael Edwards.

Will Xherdan Shaqiri join Lazio?

In our view, it’s very, very possible.

La Lazio Siamo Noi mention that Shaqiri likes the prospect of playing for Lazio, and also playing under Maurizio Sarri.

Additionally, the Serie A outfit only need to offer £3m more, so they’re not exactly miles away from Liverpool’s asking price.

At 29 years of age, this might be Liverpool’s last chance to offload Shaqiri for his kind of money.

Having paid £13m for him in the first place, this would represent some more excellent business from Liverpool.

Shaqiri helped them win the Premier League, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup, and the Reds will make their money back if they receive £13m.

What a great deal for all parties it would be.
