Football website 90Min claim that Leicester City are ready to ‘listen to offers’ for playmaker James Maddison, amid reported interest from Arsenal. The report claims that they are aware of the interest in the England playmaker. It is also said that Maddison is keen on a move to the capital.

Maddison, 24, is being strongly linked with a move to the Gunners at the moment – after another brilliant season. Clocking up 42 appearances, the ex-Norwich man had a hand in 21 goals – scoring 11 and creating 10. He has a contract at Leicester until 2024, putting the ball firmly in the Foxes’ court.

The Daily Mail reported just this week that Arsenal are ready to offer £50million and either Ainsley Maitland-Niles or Reiss Nelson. Now, the 90Min report claims Leicester are ready to ‘listen to offers’, are aware of Arsenal’s interest and that Maddison is keen on a move to London.

What is a good deal for Arsenal and Leicester ace Maddison?

Arsenal clearly have money to spend and they want Maddison as a replacement for Martin Odegaard. Leicester’s model is to sell one big player every summer, in order to finance the signings of three or four others. So, Maddison looks likely to leave and Arsenal is on the cards.

Without a player being included in a deal, Arsenal would have to spend a near-club record fee to get Maddison. So, including a fringe player or even two in a deal makes sense. Leicester are keen on Maitland-Niles, so that makes sense. £50m, and Maitland-Niles, is a good deal for all parties.
