Report: Club open to selling £16m Arsenal & Spurs target, he's been offered to Manchester United
According to The Times, Wolves are now open to selling Ruben Neves, with Arsenal and Tottenham interested in signing the Portugal international.
What’s the story?
Well, this is good news for Mikel Arteta and Antonio Conte.
The Times believe Wolves would not stand in the way of Neves leaving Molineux if a suitable offer arrived, as they have plans to strengthen the centre-forward and central midfield departments.
Of course, losing Neves would significantly weaken the midfield, but the money generated from his sale could be enough to find a replacement, and also sign a new striker.
Recently, Bruno Lage suggested he would sell the 25-year-old for a sum of £80m.
Arsenal & Tottenham threatened by Manchester United
While it’s good news that Wolves are open to offers, Manchester United pose a real threat to Arsenal and Tottenham in the race to sign Neves.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United have been invited to bid for the Portuguese maestro by his agency Gestifute, led by Jorge Mendes.
They know that the Red Devils are in need of a defensive midfielder, and would welcome an approach from Manchester United as they look to secure a big move for Neves.
Gestifute have good relations with those at Old Trafford, so if Manchester United make a suitable bid, it seems negotiations would then advance quite rapidly between them and Wolves.
That is not good news for Arsenal, who do not have many connections with Mendes.
Spurs, on the other hand, have negotiated with Mendes in recent times, but it is unknown whether they’ve been offered the same luxury as Manchester United.
Keep an eye on this saga, as it seems Neves is playing his final games for Wolves.
