Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Julian Draxler in recent days.

According to 90Min, the PSG attacker is keen on joining Spurs in the January transfer window.

This would be as part of the deal that would see Tottenham’s Tanguy Ndombele move to Paris on loan.

Ndombele is out of favour at Spurs under Antonio Conte, reportedly traning alone.

The Tottenham midfielder has not played for Tottenham since the FA Cup third-round win over Morecambe.

90min reported on Monday that PSG were searching for a player that they could send to Spurs in exchange for Ndombele or Dele Alli

Both Draxler and Georginio Wijnaldum – both currently struggling for regular game time – apparently stepped forward.

Now, Get French Football News has reported that PSG are actively trying to convince Draxler to leave.

Having made just 11 league appearances all season, they’ve reportedly told the 28-year-old that a move away would be in his best interest to make the Germany squad for the 2022 World Cup.

Interestingly, the GFFN report claims Draxler and his partner are well settled in Paris.

This is in contract to the 90Min report claiming the £30million man is open to a move away from the French capital.

Nonetheless, both seem to point to one thing – Draxler isn’t going to get much playing time at PSG going forward.

Spurs likelier to choose Wijnaldum over Draxler – TBR View

Draxler is a top-quality player with close to 200 competitive appearances for both PSG and Schalke.

In addition, he has won 56 caps for Germany, and lifted the 2014 World Cup.

In January of that year, Felix Magath said: “His ball control is exemplary, he’s the future of this club (Schalke).”

However, if Spurs had to pick between Draxler and Wijnaldum, it would be surprising if they didn’t go for the latter.

Wijnaldum knows the Premier League inside out, having clocked up 237 appearances with Liverpool and 40 with Newcastle.
