Jose Mourinho’s Roma have done a u-turn over the prospect of selling Italy international Nicolo Zaniolo to Tottenham Hotspur.
The Evening Standard report that the Europa Conference League winners are no longer willing to do business over Zaniolo.
That has ended Tottenham’s hopes of landing him to top off a transfer window where they did plenty of early business.
The report says that Spurs’ focus is now on sorting out outgoings with the futures of many players still unclear.

Tottenham foiled by Roma decision on Zaniolo
Spurs are going to sign Destiny Udogie but loan him back to Serie A outfit Udinese, so he will not bloat their squad for the season ahead.
And the north London outfit are now looking at getting some unwanted players out of the door before they think about signing anyone else.
Tanguy Ndombele, Harry Winks, Sergio Reguilon and Gio Lo Celso did not go on the pre-season tour and have attracted various levels of interest.
Roma legend Daniele di Rossi has said of Zaniolo: “He has an incredible natural physique.
“He also has great technical quality.
“In my opinion, as perhaps with everyone now, he is already a very good player – and can become a great one.”
There was talk that Antonio Conte wanted to take midfielder Zaniolo and play him at right wing-back, despite the summer arrival of Djed Spence.
But it seems we will have to wait at least another transfer window to see whether that experiment would have come to fruition.
