Roma apparently need to make player sales before they can push to sign Xhaka again, although he remains at the very top of their wishlist.

The news may be frustrating for Arsenal, who haven’t been able to offload as many fringe players as they may have been hoping for so far this summer.

Arsenal need to raise funds for their own planned additions, but clearing players out has been difficult so far.

Xhaka is one of their more valuable reserves, but Roma seem like the most interested party, and if they fail to afford a deal, Arsenal may be in danger of being unable to sell the Swiss international.
