Rangers appear to be closing in on appointing Michael Beale as their new manager, with his club now expecting the 42-year-old to head to Ibrox, according to talkSPORT.
Beale has been heavily linked with the Gers ever since the club announced Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s departure this week.

The Englishman worked at Ibrox during Steven Gerrard’s tenure. And it was reported by the Daily Record this week that Beale was Rangers’ top candidate for the post.
Beale set to become new Rangers manager
It seems that the appointment is edging closer and closer.

TalkSPORT is now reporting that Queens Park Rangers expect Beale to take the Rangers job. Les Ferdinand had previously told the Record that he only wanted people at Loftus Road who wanted to be there.
It seems that Beale has felt that the Rangers job is one he simply cannot turn down.
It is an exciting appointment from the Gers if they do indeed manage to get Beale through the door.
Rangers were definitely stagnating under van Bronckhorst – despite their run to the Europa League final last season. And they have fallen some way off the summit in the Scottish Premiership.
Beale is no stranger to the surroundings at Ibrox. And he won a lot of plaudits during his time working under Gerrard. Gerrard suggested that he would have to coach for up to 20 years to be as good as Beale.
And he has continued to receive praise with QPR. They went into the World Cup off the back of a poor patch of form. However, they topped the table earlier in the campaign.
Obviously, his lack of experience as a number one will be a concern. But Beale is someone with clear ideas and a way he wants his sides to play.
And having that clarity could be exactly what Rangers need as they look to get back to the top of the table – and then stay there.
