Napoli have apparently ended their pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur defender Kieran Trippier.
The Sun have reported that a move to the Italian outfit is now unlikely for the Englishman because they want a younger right-back this summer.
Carlo Ancelotti confirmed only a couple of weeks ago that Trippier was a transfer target, and the player’s wife was apparently looking at schools in Naples.

But it looks as though the former Burnley star will now not be heading to Serie A this summer.
A Napoli source said: “We will be pursuing a right-back but will be going for a younger player, which is in line with the policy of the club.”
Despite the player’s poor season, Daniel Levy is still keen to demand around £40 million for Trippier’s sale this summer.
TBR’s view
Napoli’s U-turn over Trippier is a blow as it looked as though Spurs were set for a tidy sum for a player who has rapidly declined over the past year.
Trippier – who earns £65,000-a-week according to Spotrac – was superb last term and at the World Cup last summer, but he has regularly come under fire from supporters in 2018/19.

Many were hoping to see him secure a move to Napoli, but they may now have to hope for Atletico Madrid to step up their interest
The Spanish side need to replace veteran Juanfran and had been credited with interest in Trippier (The Mirror).
