The sale of reported Arsenal target Julian Draxler is PSG’s “prime objective” this summer, according to Le10 Sport.

Last month, Fussball Transfers claimed that the Gunners were stepping up their pursuit of the German midfielder.

Arsenal were said to have requested information on the £30million (Goal.com) ace, with Mikel Arteta seemingly keen to bring him to the Emirates Stadium.

Draxler has made just 19 appearances in all competitions this season, starting only 12 matches under Thomas Tuchel.

Though he has laid on seven assists, he is yet to sign a new contract with the Ligue 1 champions, with his current deal ending in 2021.

Le10 Sport claims that PSG are looking to raise funds by offloading some fringe players this summer, and sporting director Leonardo has identified Draxler as a key man to move on.

TBR View:

Draxler is a world-class serial winner in the prime of his career, boasting upwards of 350 competitive club appearances, over half a century of Germany caps, and multiple trophies including the World Cup, the Confederations Cup and three Ligue 1 titles.

He is a versatile midfielder and attacker, with great pace, dribbling ability, close control, creativity, an eye for goal, an impressive shot and a great footballing brain.

Back in 2014, a Bleacher Report column described him as a “perfect fit for Arsenal” and “essentially an Arsenal academy product without ever having stepped foot there”.

Interestingly, the article finished by saying “this will not be the last time we will hear about a potential Draxler move to Arsenal” – and six years on, here we are again.
