Report: Club agreed deal for 'magnificent' Tottenham player
Tottenham Hotspur have had an agreement in place for several days for Tanguy Ndombele to join Valencia on loan, but Calciomercato. It reports that the player has started to hesitate over a potential switch in the last few hours.
Ndombele is one Tottenham player fans will be expecting to see move on before the deadline passes. It was claimed on Wednesday that he is wanted by Paris Saint-Germain, Everton, and Valencia.
Foot Mercato reported that his priority was to join PSG. However, the Ligue 1 giants need to offload players before they will be able to sign the 25-year-old.
Interestingly, reports from Italy have suggested that it may have been another side who looked to be closing in on a deal for Ndombele.
Calciomercato. It claims that Valencia had had a deal agreed with Tottenham for several days. The report noted that Los Che were willing to cover some of his wages.
A move was all but in place. However, Calciomercato. It adds that Ndombele is now unsure about moving to the Mestalla. He is keen to wait and see what happens with PSG’s interest.
Tottenham will take encouragement from Ndombele initially being open to Valencia move
It is not difficult to see why a move to PSG would appeal to Ndombele more than Valencia. Mauricio Pochettino’s men are flying in the French top flight. And they have the Champions League knockout stages ahead. He also grew up in a Parisian suburb.
Valencia meanwhile, are sat in mid-table in La Liga. And they have lost three of their last four. So it appears to be an ambitious move on their part to try and sign a player Jose Mourinho labelled ‘magnificent‘ during his time in charge.
It is oddly encouraging for Tottenham that Ndombele is only reluctant to commit to joining Valencia while he awaits a decision from PSG. That would perhaps hint that he is prepared to go to Spain if Pochettino’s side are not able to get a deal across the line.
