Wolverhampton Wanderers have been credited with a transfer bid for Dinamo Zagreb star Dani Olmo this week.
As reported by the Croatian outlet Sportske Novosti, Wolves, Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur are all keen on the talented Spanish international.
That report suggested a £21.3 million bid had been lodged for the player from an unnamed Premier League team.
The Spanish publication Sport has since confirmed that ‘this is true’, naming Wolves as the interested party.
This development should undoubtedly have Wolves fans excited. Olmo is one of Spain’s most talented players and has proven himself at the highest level with some extremely impressive displays in the Champions League with the Croatian side.
However, there is some bad news that comes from the same Sport report. Olmo, apparently, has no desire to join a Premier League side. The report claims that Olmo has ‘ruled out England as an option’. It goes on to suggest the Bundesliga is his preferred choice, as he prefers the style of play in Germany.
The likes of Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig are readying bids for the player who is expected to have a new team by the end of the week. AC Milan are also keen and Olmo could be tempted to help resurrect the Italian side’s fading fortunes.
For Wolves it will be a disappointment, especially considering the current injury troubles at Molineux, but Olmo is clearly not a fan of English football.
Wolves will move on and identify new targets whilst the mercurial Spanish wizard will surely thrive wherever he does finally end up.
