Schalke midfielder Weston McKennie is still interested in a move to the Premier League, amid reports of Southampton showing an interest in the American international.
That is according to a report from NBC Sports Pro Soccer Talk. They claim that sources close to McKennie have confirmed to them that McKennie is still keen on a move to the English top-flight and that there should be ‘movement on the situation’ in the next few days.
Plenty of teams in England have been linked with a move for the USMNT international in recent weeks but Southampton are the most recent team to be linked with his signature.

That is according to a report from Kicker this week, which claims that the Saints are keen on a move for the 21-year-old, who has scored six goals in 19 caps for his national team.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is set to join Tottenham or Everton this summer, with the former Saints captain transfer-listed after not signing an extension to his current St Mary’s deal which expires in 2021.
McKennie, an energetic midfielder who can also operate at full-back or on the wing, would be a perfect recruit to replace the Dane.
Southampton fans will no doubt be hoping that the club can indeed win the transfer battle for the player, who is clearly keen on a move to England.
