West Ham United have made an enquiry for Hertha Berlin forward Salomon Kalou, according to a report from German outlet Kicker.
It has been a tough time for the Hammers supporters. The club have brought in two January signings, with Darren Randolph and Tomas Soucek moving to the London Stadium.

The supporters will be hoping that the Irons enjoy a busy couple of days ahead of the window’s closure. However, they may not be best pleased with reports coming out of Germany.
According to Kicker, West Ham have made contact with Hertha over a potential move for Kalou.

It is difficult to see Jurgen Klinsmann standing in Kalou’s way should a reasonable bid come in. The 34-year-old has made one Bundesliga start this season.
And with Kicker reporting that Klinsmann’s men are set to land Krzysztof Piatek from AC Milan, they may welcome the chance to offload Kalou.
TBR View – West Ham fans will hope reports come to nothing
Kalou is a player who has won virtually everything in England. Nevertheless, reports of West Ham’s interest will surely not go down well with the frustrated fans.
The Ivory Coast international turns 35 in August. And he has barely played for his current club this season. He has previously enjoyed some success in Germany – he scored 34 league goals across the previous three campaigns – but this looks to be another step in the wrong direction.
West Ham are in a relegation battle in the Premier League.
And signing a forward who is coming towards the end of his career does not appear to be the best way to get themselves out of trouble.
