Tottenham Hotspur have just £10 million left in their transfer budget to sign a new striker as back-up to Harry Kane, according to reports.
The Sun is suggesting that Tottenham’s business in January, bringing in Gedson Fernandes and Steven Bergwin as well as securing Giovani Lo Celso permanently, has left them with just £10 million for the striker hunt.
Kane is currently out with a hamstring tear and bringing in an alternative was considered a priority for Jose Mourinho. However, main targets Krzysztof Piatek and Willian Jose are now out of their financial reach whilst £15 million-rated Benfica striker Haris Seferovic is also, it seems, too expensive.

TBR’s View
This low sum certainly leaves Tottenham struggling in their hopes of bringing in an adequate replacement option for Kane.
Piatek and Jose are both valued well in advance of £10 million, whilst Seferovic is also seemingly out of their price range. The Swiss striker was hardly the marquee target Tottenham fans were hoping for either.
Other names that have done the rounds recently include a returning Fernando Llorente, Islam Slimani and Olivier Giroud. All three would likely be more affordable considering Tottenham’s reduced budget.
But it seems Spurs fans can temper their excitement regarding a new striker given the £10 million budget at hand.
