Report claims Tottenham have not given up on Ryan Sessegnon

Tottenham Hotspur still have plenty of faith in Ryan Sessegnon, despite his difficult first season at the club.

That is according to a report from Football.London this week.

The report suggests that staff behind the scenes at Tottenham ‘have high hopes’ for the summer signing from Fulham.

Sessegnon joined Tottenham from the Cottagers in the summer for a fee reported to be worth £25 million, rising to £30m, by the BBC.

The left-sided star had thrived in Fulham’s Championship promotion campaign of 2017-18, sparking talk of a potential call-up to England’s World Cup squad. His form in the Premier League with Fulham was less impressive but Tottenham had seen enough and finally made a move for the player.

The 19-year-old has had some injury issues this season which have prevented him showcasing his best abilities. But there have been glimpses of what he is capable of, especially when featuring in the Champions League.

One massive doubt regarding Sessegnon involves his best position. He has been used both as a left-winger and left-back during his time at Spurs and that indecision has not helped his progress.

Hopefully, if he can stay fit and Jose Mourinho and co continue to have faith in him, Sessegnon can become a top player for Tottenham.
