Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek has been back in the press this week and it appears the club have made contact regarding a potential signing.
The Dutchman was one of the stars of the Ajax side who missed out on the Champions League final last season, because of Tottenham’s semi-final heroics.
With Ajax allowing both Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs de Ligt leave in the summer, Van de Beek was told he had to stay.

But in the next transfer window, it is expected that the Dutch international will be on the move.
Now, as reported by Football.London, it has emerged that Tottenham have ‘made tentative enquiries’ regarding the potential transfer of Van de Beek over the past 12 months.
However, the report also states that Van de Beek is expected to join Real Madrid in a £47 million deal.
Indeed, Tottenham would seem to have an uphill task when it comes to signing the Dutchman. As reported by De Telegraaf in December last year, as relayed by AS, the midfielder is not keen on the prospect of working under Jose Mourinho. He is instead said to be waiting on a move to the Bernabeu.
So whilst Tottenham fans would likely relish the idea of Van de Beek strengthening their midfield, it looks likely that their approaches to sign him may fall on death ears.
