Mundo Deportivo have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur and Atletico Madrid can sign Schalke midfielder Can Bozdogan for a bargain £9million fee this summer.

Bozdogan, 19, has clocked up three senior appearances for Schalke this season – his first ever senior outings in his professional career. His brief performances have attracted interest from both England and Spain.

The captain of Schalke’s under-19 side, Bozdogan has caps for German’s Under-18 side and is more than versatile. he is able to play on the left, attacking midfield and central midfield – and is renowned for his excellent left foot.

The report claims a fee of just £9million is enough for Bozdogan. Atletico were leading the charge for Bozdogan but it is claimed that in the past few hours, Tottenham have ‘fallen in love’ with the teenager.

TBR’s view – Bozdogan could be what Spurs hoped for in Clarke

Indeed, Clarke was signed by Spurs last summer from Leeds United for a fee in the region of £10million. But the England youth international has since failed in loan spells at Leeds and then QPR.

Bozdogan is a much bigger talent and at a bargain of just £9million, beating Atletico should be high in Tottenham’s priorities. If Spurs can secure a move for Bozdogan, they will be getting a player that can be a Spurs star for years.
