Timo Werner is willing to wait for a move to Liverpool, according to a report from Goal.
The Reds have long been linked with a move for the German international. However, The Mirror reported this week that Liverpool have pulled the plug on any deal as they are not willing to pay his £50 million release clause, instead suggesting that the Reds will not pay more than £30 million for his signature.
That is despite, according to The Guardian, Klopp believing that Werner is ‘perfect’ for his side’s style of play.
The news that Werner could be available to other clubs has seemingly caught the attention of other clubs. Inter Milan, for example, are seemingly keen on the player. Chelsea are also set to consider a swoop of their own.
But Goal are reporting that Werner is now willing to wait it out in order to get his dream move to Anfield.
They suggest Werner will not be heading anywhere else this summer and could wait until Liverpool can reach an agreement with Leipzig now or in January, or wait a year. It is understood that Werner’s release clause will drop to €40 million next summer, a fee Liverpool would be in a position to meet next term.
So it appears that Werner has his heart set on Liverpool and many fans will still be hopeful that the club can secure his services this summer.
If not, it is clear that Werner will remain a viable target for the foreseeable future.
