Arsenal are currently being linked with a move for the Palmeiras striker Gabriel Veron. As reported by Yahoo Brasil, the Gunners are keen on the player who starred at the recent FIFA Under-17 World Cup, who would be available for a fee in the region of £26.5 million.
Now, a new report from Fox Sports has been detailing secretive attempts of an unnamed European club to sign the teenage sensation.
The report claims that the European club watched him in the aforementioned tournament and then again in action for Palmeiras. The player headed to Europe to meet with officials from the club and an offer was made which Palmeiras were happy with.
It was claimed the club were set to sign Veron and then loan him back to Palmeiras until the summer of 2021.

The identity of the club involved is undisclosed, but it is not Arsenal’s Premier League rivals Everton, who have not followed up on their reported January interest.
Unfortunately, even if it was Arsenal, it is reported that the negotiations were interrupted in mid-March because of the ongoing global health crisis. A new onslaught of interest from European clubs is expected before the end of the year.
Of course, it may not have been Arsenal making a move for the 17-year-old sensation, who has been compared to countryman Gabriel Jesus.
Regardless, Arsenal fans will be hoping that their club are again in the running for this fine talent at the next opportunity.
