Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Darmstadt striker Serdar Dursun, according to a report from the Daily Mirror (5/10; page 43).
Sabri Lamouchi’s men have been incredibly busy this summer. Unfortunately however, they have endured a torrid start to the new Championship season.
Forest have lost all four of their opening games and sit in the bottom three. And Luke Freeman is the only player within their squad to have scored a league goal for the club.
They brought in Lyle Taylor to provide competition for Lewis Grabban. But they are apparently keen to bolster their striker options further.
According to the Daily Mirror (5/10; page 43), they are hopeful of signing Dursun on deadline day.
It is a surprising rumour. Dursun does not appear to have been linked with a switch to the City Ground at any stage in this window.
He did go into this campaign off the back of an impressive season where he scored 16 goals in the German second tier. However, the 28-year-old is yet to open his account for this campaign.
He is also a player who struggled to be prolific before his move to Darmstadt. So it will be interesting to see if anything comes of the reports.
And if he does join, it will be fascinating to see whether his arrival can inspire any sort of a turnaround.
