The Northern Echo have claimed that Inter Milan could be willing to sanction a second loan spell for winger Valentino Lazaro, which would allow Newcastle United to keep the Austrian at St. James’ Park.
Lazaro, 24, has impressed in glimpses since being one of three players to join Newcastle on loan in the January transfer window along with Tottenham defender Danny Rose and Schalke midfielder Nabil Bentaleb.
The 28-time Austria international has started just four of his 13 appearances for Newcastle – scoring twice against West Brom in the FA Cup and Bournemouth in a 4-1 Premier League win.
To sign Lazaro permanently would see Newcastle have to pay as much as £20million, as per the permanent clause in his contract. Newcastle are unlikely – but Inter may have Newcastle the chance to keep him, with another loan.

TBR’s view – Lazaro done enough to stay next season?
He has done enough, even without Steve Bruce handing him more game time from the off. He certainly is not worth £20million, even without the current health crisis reducing transfer fees.
But if Newcastle can land Lazaro on loan for the 2020-21 campaign – as the report claims Inter are okay with that – than they should really pursue a second temporary deal, and a better fee for a permanent clause.
