Polish outlet Sport have claimed that 17-year-old wonderkid Matuesz Bogusz has already been promoted to senior Leeds United training – with his agent claiming the Whites are very pleased.
Bogusz joined Leeds in January as one of two new signings, along with goalkeeper Kiko Casilla. Bogusz, though, was expected to turn out for the Leeds Under-18 and Under-23 sides.
The Poland youth international has already played 33 times for Polish side Ruch Churzow despite his age. Scoring five goals, Leeds moved quickly to snap up the impressive midfielder.
It seems as though Bogusz has taken to life in Yorkshire. Despite being away from his family and girlfriend, Bogusz has already become a stand-out player in Carlos Corberan’s reserve side. Now, he is training with the first team.
Bogusz’s agent is quoted as saying: “Leeds is very pleased with Mateusz. The club’s representatives were surprised that in such a short time he was able to adapt to the pace of the game that prevails in England.”
It is Bogusz’s awareness, vision and alluring midfield maturity that stands out during his performances for the second string. At 17 years of age, Bogusz is churning out performances expected of a veteran midfield maestro.
His best performance came last time out in the 4-0 win over Charlton. Getting on the score sheet himself with some fine footwork and a neat finish, he was involved in everything and provided an assist for Jordan Stevens’ strike.
Bielsa does not care about age. If you are good enough, you will get your chance. Bogusz is good enough and training with the first team is a sign that we may see him before the end of the season.
