Leeds United are currently leading the race to sign Liverpool’s Harry Wilson, according to the Daily Mirror.
Wilson is attracting a lot of attention after spending a year on loan at Bournemouth. The 23-year-old scored seven goals in 31 appearances for the Cherries.
The Daily Mirror reports that he is wanted by a number of Premier League clubs, with Leeds facing competition from Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Southampton.
However, the Mirror notes that Marcelo Bielsa’s side are currently in pole position to sign the £20 million-rated Wales international.
TBR View: Wilson signing would be major statement from Leeds
It does appear that there is plenty of work to do before Wilson’s future is resolved. But there is no doubt that it would be a huge statement if Leeds can win the race for his signature.
He is a player who arguably ticks a lot of boxes for Bielsa. Wilson can play almost anywhere in attacking areas.
And he has now proven that he can make a big impact at the highest level. Only striker and namesake Callum Wilson scored more league goals for Bournemouth this past season.
So Leeds will be hoping that they can capitalise on their current position and make sure that they can get a move across the line.
