Rangers are likely to face a big fight to keep star striker Alfredo Morelos at Ibrox this summer.
Steven Gerrard will no doubt want the Colombian to remain, but Rangers will undoubtedly have a transfer figure on their mind that would be difficult to reject.
The Rangers goal-machine’s form in the Europa League this season, where he is joint top-scorer with the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Jota, has seen him catch the eye of several clubs across Europe.
Whilst Rangers would like to keep him at Ibrox, some of those clubs are too big to be ignored.
One of the more recent clubs to have been linked with the player is Serie A side Lazio.
The Biancocelesti have been linked with the Rangers star in recent weeks and now a report from the Scottish Sun appears to have confirmed their interest.
The report suggests that Lazio sporting director Igli Tare ‘is impressed’ with ‘El Bufalo’ and he is on a three-man shortlist to strengthen their attacking options.
The report continues to make it clear money would be no issue. Laxio are prepared to sell star midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic this summer for £70 million, meaning they could easily afford the reported £20 million asking price set by Rangers to take Morelos from Glasgow.
It is claimed that Morelos could be lured away by the promise of Champions League football and a bumper wage-packet.
Rangers undoubtedly face a tough fight keeping the Colombian at the club this summer and this latest report suggests Lazio could be the biggest threat yet.
