Report claims Jurgen Klopp might hand Liverpool chance to Harry Wilson if valuation isn’t met

A report by the Liverpool Echo has claimed that Jurgen Klopp would have no qualms over utilising Harry Wilson in his squad if a buyer can’t be found.

The tricky winger is thought to be available for around £20 million this summer, with the Reds not keen on allowing the Wales international to leave on loan again.

After last season’s campaign with Bournemouth, Wilson now has 31 Premier League appearances under his belt and he’s no longer a novice.

With Liverpool set to take part in four competitions this season, Klopp knows that his fringe players could prove crucial throughout the campaign.

Still, it will perhaps come as a shock to some supporters that Liverpool might still look to utilise Wilson during the 2020/21 campaign.

With Newcastle, Leeds United and Southampton all thought to have contacted Liverpool regarding the 23-year-old, nobody has come up with a concrete offer as of yet.

Wilson scored seven times last season and around better players, there’s enough to suggest he could thrive at Liverpool – and under Klopp’s management.

The pick of his goals came in a game against Manchester City when he fired in a scrumptious free-kick during a 3-1 defeat.

Competition

One area that Liverpool might be lacking is strength in depth. Klopp’s first eleven romped to the title in record time last season, but the challenge of defending it will be tough.

Players like Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri failed to make an impact in reserve last season and with that in mind, placing Wilson in his plans might be ideal for Klopp.

Last season, the forward showed he can play on either flank, score goals and also has the energy to get up and down the pitch in transition.

If an offer isn’t forthcoming before the window shuts, Klopp could certainly do a lot worse than place his faith in Wilson this season.
