Leeds United have now moved into a ‘very close’ position to sign Nahitan Nandez, La Nuova Sardegna say.
Reports in Italy claim that Leeds are now closing in on landing the midfielder.
However, the sticking point in any deal comes as Leeds want the transfer to be done in two installments.
Leeds are said to be willing to pay the £30.9million required to sign the midfielder, but in two separate packages.
Cagliari would rather have the cash in a lump sum, which is causing some difficulties in negotiations.
But Leeds are now thought be edging closer to making the transfer.
Or maybe not…
Well, that’s if you believe reports in Italy anyway.
In England the suggestion is that Nandez actually isn’t as close to Leeds as it has been claimed.

Leeds Live say that Nandez’s move to Leeds may not happen, which puts some doubt into the transfer update.
If Leeds were to sign Nandez he could be an appealing addition to their squad.
The 25-year-old has impressed in Serie A over the past campaign, and looks very well rounded.
He could arrive at Leeds and feature alongside the likes of Kalvin Phillips in midfield, as the fee which the Whites are prepared to pay certainly appears to suggest that they view him as a first-team player.
