Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier reportedly has no interest in a return to his parent club Lorient and prefers to remain at Leeds United, according to a report.
Leeds Live have been speaking to Arnaud Huchet, a journalist from French publication Ouest-France, regarding the situation revolving around the Leeds United stopper and he made it clear that an Elland Road stay was on the stopper’s agenda.
It is suggested Meslier was left ‘offended and angry’ when Lorient signed Paul Nardi from Monaco last summer, rather than trust him with the number one spot at the Stade du Moustoir.

That led to his initial Leeds United loan move and the 6ft 6in custodian is now hopeful of remaining in England, specifically at Elland Road.
Leeds United fans have not got to see much of Meslier this season. Kiko Casilla has remained the number one stopper for Marcelo Bielsa but the Frenchman has recently been deputising for the suspended Spaniard.
Fans have been impressed by Meslier and many will be hoping the club does indeed bring the 20-year-old in during the next transfer window.
As reported by The Mirror, this is the plan for Leeds if they are indeed promoted to the Premier League. The West Yorkshire side reportedly have a £6 million fee agreed with Lorient for Meslier’s permanent transfer. That reported fee is believed to be incorrect, with Ouest-France suggesting it is actually €6 million (£5.2m).
Whatever the fee is, it appears that Meslier will be willing and ready to join Leeds United.
