Liverpool are willing to offload Switzerland international Xherdan Shaqiri during the summer, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The 28-year-old forward has proved a versatile performer for the Reds, operating on both flanks and through the middle during his time at Anfield.

It is thought that Liverpool have privately indicated that bidding for his services is open at £25 million.

If the Reds managed to get profit for Shaqiri on the £13 million they paid Stoke for him in 2018, it would be remarkable.

During his time at Anfield, the £80,000-a-week ace has struggled for regular game time and also endured a pretty awful time with injuries.

He has managed just 40 appearances for the Reds with the vast majority of those coming from the bench.

It’ll be interesting to see whether Liverpool can get £25 million for his services and his availability could alert several European clubs.

Boss Jurgen Klopp is likely to do some manoeuvring with his squad in the summer.

After a pretty dominant 2019/20 campaign, Liverpool will perhaps look to add some new faces to their squad in the summer.

In order to do that some will need to leave and one of those is likely to be Shaqiri.

Liverpool are facing an anxious wait to see if the season will resume after the suspension following the global health pandemic.

With the team well clear at the summit of the division they will hope to still be crowned champions regardless of whether fixtures can resume.

Recruitment plans for the summer look to be gathering pace, however, and it remains to be seen how leaves and who arrives at Anfield when the window reopens.
