Aston Villa’s promotion back to the Premier League was largely orchestrated by their star playmaker Jack Grealish. When Villa had their captain fit they were often unbeatable. The 23-year-old clearly matured as both a player and a man throughout the season.
After a summer in which he nearly left Aston Villa for the Premier League, promotion was undoubtedly key to ensuring Grealish stayed for yet another season.
It might also see Grealish back in the international fold again.
As reported by The Telegraph, Gareth Southgate and England will watch with ‘great interest’ to see how Grealish performs now he is back in the Premier League.

The midfielder declared his international allegiance to England in controversial fashion back in 2015.
It was just as Grealish began to make a name for himself at Aston Villa. He turned his back on the Republic of Ireland to play for the England under-21s.
At the time, many felt that a senior call-up was just around the corner.
However, at the time, Grealish was making more headlines for actions off the pitch than on it. Injuries and Aston Villa’s plight certainly did not help matters.
If Grealish carries on the form he showed toward the end of the Championship season in the Premier League there will be no doubt about his England credentials.
Aston Villa might have an England international among their playing ranks again very soon.
