Everton are reportedly interested in the signature of Spain under-21 star Dani Olmo.
Don Balon has been discussing the future of the Spanish attacker this summer. The report claims that the Dinamo Zagreb playmaker is available for around €25 million (£22.4 million) this summer. Everton are said to be ready to make such an offer, along with Bundesliga sides Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen.
However, the report also makes it clear that Olmo’s desire would be a return to boyhood club Barcelona, who he left for Croatia in 2014.
Olmo has caught the eye at the recent European Under-21 Championships in Italy.
The 21-year-old starred as Spain won the competition. Olmo even scored in the final. Such form has also, according to Sportske Novosti, attracted the attention of Manchester United.
A move to Everton does certainly make sense for the player. He is the right age for director of football Marcel Brands to show interest and is clearly an immensely talented individual.
Capable of playing out wide or as an attacking midfielder, there is certainly a space for him in the Everton team if a transfer did pan out.
But Everton fans have seen reports from this particular source mean little in the past in relation to stories regarding Hirving Lozano and Yerry Mina.
So a pinch of salt is perhaps necessary, but Everton fans will no doubt wish this deal does happen.
