Celtic were recently linked with a move for Philadelphia Union defender Mark McKenzie and it now appears that the Bhoys are also keen on one of his team-mates, who has been in fine form in the MLS restart.
Brenden Aaronson has shone in the MLS is Back tournament, including in a stunning display against Inter Miami just over a week ago.
MLS Soccer is reporting that Celtic and an unnamed Belgian club are interested in the player. This comes after a report from German publication Bild listed a host of Bundesliga teams as being keen on the player, who they dubbed the ‘American Kai Havertz’.
He certainly plays in a similar style to the Bayer Leverkusen star, who is a reported (Daily Star) £89m transfer target for Chelsea, which has clearly been the reason for such a comparison.

An energetic attacking midfielder with an eye for a pass and excellent dribbling skills, Aaronson has already made his debut for the USA national team, featuring in a 1-0 win over Costa Rica earlier this year.
The report from Bild suggested he would carry a €1.3 million (£1.2m) valuation, however, that would appear a low price for a player with Aaronson’s talents.
It certainly seems that Phillie is an appealing location for Celtic scouts. The Daily Record reported earlier this month that centre-back McKenzie was on their radar and could be available for less than £1 million.
Securing both of these top American talents would undoubtedly be good business from Celtic.
