Celtic are reportedly entering the race to sign Derby County left-back Max Lowe this summer. The Daily Express is reporting that Celtic are hopeful of battling both domestic rivals Rangers and Aberdeen. The report states that Celtic have ‘already held initial talks’ with Derby County over a potential deal for the 22-year-old.
Lowe impressed on loan at Aberdeen last season and it appears that has caught the eye of the Old Firm rivals. Rangers, according to The Daily Record, are hoping to do a deal for the Derby County defender and Steven Gerrard has reportedly made contact with Rams boss Frank Lampard over a deal.

Celtic are now hoping to get one over on their local rivals in the transfer market.
TBR’s View
Celtic are facing a battle to keep hold of starting left-back Kieran Tierney this summer. Even without potentially losing the Scotland international, Celtic need cover in the position and Lowe clearly fits the bill.
Celtic’s current back-up is Emilio Izaguirre. The Honduran veteran is however expected to move on this summer and is certainly not the player he used to be.
So, as a potential back-up to Tierney, Lowe could certainly be a good recruit from Celtic.
