Aston Villa have been linked with a shock move for AS Roma youngster Cengiz Under.
Arena Napoli bring a report that claims that as well as Napoli being interested in the 22-year-old, the Midlands club have made some enquiries about the Turkey international, along with fellow Premier League club Everton.
Under personally has not had the best of seasons in 2019/20, having been limited to just 10 appearances as a result of injury problems, and having struggled to adapt to Paulo Fonseca’s system.

He has scored just one goal, and recently there has been talk about the club potentially signing Matteo Politano from Inter Milan.
That is something that would certainly be detrimental to his starting prospects.
It is sounding as though a January exit could well be on the cards, and any move to Villa would definitely be one of the more colourful transfers of the window.
TBR’s view – Under a huge talent, but…
Under is undoubtedly a fine young talent, but perhaps he just isn’t the kind of player Villa need to be going for right now, as exciting as the link sounds.

Under – previously valued at around £34 million (Calciomercato) – is a winger and arguably Villa need to be focusing their efforts on signing a striker.
Perhaps if Roma would be willing to loan Under that would be worth considering, but to buy him outright would be a bit of a risk given Villa’s position in the Premier League table.
