Arsenal have reportedly made an offer for PSG defender Layvin Kurzawa. According to Spanish publication SPORT, Barcelona are desperate to bring in the Frenchman as full-back cover. However, they plan on waiting until they have managed to clear the decks of fringe players, which could be several months away due to the global health crisis.
With that in mind, the report claims that Kurzawa’s entourage have informed Barcelona that the 27-year-old has also received ‘interesting offers’ from Napoli and Arsenal.
Kurzawa is out of contract at the end of June and, given the current global economic situation, a host of clubs will likely be interested in his signature.
Of course, it is not the first time that Arsenal have been linked with a move for the French defender.
In January, The Telegraph reported that Arsenal were in talks with PSG about signing the versatile defender. The report claimed Arsenal could pay £4.2 million to bring in the player six months before his contract expired.
However, no move ever panned out and Arsenal ended up blooding youngster Bukayo Saka in the role to great success. With Kieran Tierney also hopeful of a better, injury-free, second season at The Emirates, it is hard to see why Arsenal would make a move for Kurzawa when other areas in the team need more pressing attention.
But, considering his free-agent status, don’t rule anything out.
