Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has admitted the club still plan on offering Pablo Mari a permanent transfer despite his recent ankle injury.
The Spaniard suffered the injury in the recent clash with Manchester City and it has been suggested the problem may interfere with plans to bring him to the club permanently. The 26-year-old is currently on loan at the club from Brazilian side Flamengo.
Speaking to the press, as relayed by the Evening Standard, Arteta confirmed his injury did not impact his plans regarding a potential permanent role at The Emirates Stadium.
“Yep (we want to sign him permanently). This cannot be affected just because a player gets injured doing his job and defending our club.”
In fact, a report in Brazil is even claiming that the deal is already agreed. Coluna Do Fla is suggesting that the deal is already agreed between the two clubs and could cost an overall total of €16 million (£14.5m).

As reported by Bleacher Report, Arsenal paid £4 million to sign Mari in January so the rest of that fee is now set to be paid out for his permanent signature.
It is unlikely the entire sum will be paid in one go, with some of the deal likely to be performance or appearance based.
Arsenal are clearly hot on Mari, a relatively unknown player that has been plucked from Brazil to hopefully thrive in England.
If he has indeed already agreed a permanent deal, then Arsenal fans will hope he can return from his injury as soon as possible and continue to fight for the Gunners.
