Report claims 49-year-old manager “would love” to take Tottenham job
Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino “would love” the opportunity to return to Tottenham, according to a report.
The Sun claims that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is weighing up a move to try bring the 49-year-old back to the north London club.
It is explained that the Argentine boss is “seriously considering” a return to the Premier League with Spurs, who has was dismissed by in November 2019.
The report states that he’s unhappy in his current role with French giants PSG, who missed out on the Ligue 1 title, and would love to return to his former club.
Pochettino enjoyed a five-and-a-half year spell with Spurs. Unfortunately, his team couldn’t quite get over the line for silverware, losing in a Champions League final, as well as falling short in a Premier League title race.
However, there is no doubt he was a massive favourite with the club’s fanbase.
Spurs supporters are still waiting to hear who the full-time replacement is going to be for sacked manager Jose Mourinho.
Pochettino obviously has a great relationship with a large portion of the Spurs squad, and he called the club’s attacking midfielder Dele Alli “amazing” in an interview earlier this season.
If you hear the numerous names being linked with the Spurs job, there aren’t many that are making fans that excited.
Pochettino making a return to England would be gigantic news, and perhaps he feels he has unfinished business with a club that he was so unfortunate not to win a trophy with.
He would surely be welcomed back with open arms by the players.
