Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen could still leave this summer. According to a report by ESPN, Eriksen is keen to leave Spurs before the end of the European transfer window – but only to join three clubs.
Eriksen is only interested in leaving Tottenham if Barcelona, Real Madrid or Juventus come in for him. He has been strongly linked with Real Madrid and Juventus all summer so a late move could be on the cards.
Barcelona are the current La Liga title holders and will be aiming for European success this season. The Catalan club have loaned Philippe Coutinho out to Bayern Munich, potentially opening up a vacancy for Eriksen.
The Denmark midfielder could also join Real Madrid. Zinedine Zidane has been performing a squad overhaul after his side finished 19 points behind Barcelona last season in third place. Eriksen has been linked all summer and there could be a late move if Real Madrid pull the plug on their Paul Pogba interest.
Juventus offer another option for Eriksen. The 27-year-old would join Maurizio Sarri in Turin as they attempt to win yet another Serie A title. Juve will also be hoping for European glory.
Tottenham will be desperate to hold onto Eriksen but it might make more sense to let him go. While the midfielder has been a classy player for Spurs over the past few years, it is clear he wants to take up a challenge with one of these European heavyweights.
With just one year left on his contract, now is the time to cash in. It is unlikely that the Danish midfielder will extend his ties so it makes sense for all parties.
