Spanish outlet El Desmarque has claimed that Christian Eriksen is already ‘having doubts’ after leaving Tottenham Hotspur to join Inter Milan, with the report claiming he chose to reject Real Madrid for Antonio Conte’s side.
Eriksen, 28, joined Inter for a fee believed to be in the region of £17.5million. He has since clocked up eight appearances for Inter, but has managed only to start three of those. He has scored once, in the Europa League against Ludogorets.
Since his move, there have been question marks over the former Ajax star. The Danish star himself is becoming frustrated at sitting on the bench more then he believed he would, as per the report, and it has led to him ‘having doubts’.
The report states that Eriksen rejected a move to Real Madrid, and he is ‘wondering’ whether a move to Zinedine Zidane’s side could have been the better transfer.
TBR’s view – Should Eriksen have gone to Real Madrid?
The thinking behind the move is probably that Eriksen felt he would have been first choice at Inter, while the likes of Fede Valverde, Isco, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos would have kept him out of the La Liga giats’ eleven.
But given he has turned down the chance to live out many footballer’s dream of a move to the Santiago Bernabeu to warm the bench at Inter, it comes as no surprise that he is having doubts over his transfer to Italy. The novelty has worn off.
