Surprise Arsenal target Christian Eriksen could be staying at Inter Milan afterall, with the Italian giants apparently only willing to sell for £27m.
That is according to reports from Italy, where Tuttosport claim that Inter are only interested in selling Eriksen if they can make a profit on the supposed £16m they paid to sign him from Tottenham last January.
The £27m fee represents a shift in stance from Inter if reports are to be believed. ESPN claimed earlier in the week that a bargain £12m deal could be on the table for Eriksen, something that was said to be interesting Arsenal.
But if Tuttosport’s claims of a mammoth asking price for Eriksen are true then this would probably rule the Gunners out. Having just spent over £40m on Thomas Partey, it is hard to see them splashing out in January to the tune of just shy of £30m.
Eriksen has endured a miserable time in Italy since his move from north London. Firmly out of favour under Antonio Conte, the Danish star is thought to want to try and engineer a way out of the club.

And that’s not just to Arsenal, either. A host of clubs will admire Eriksen for his footballing ability but few will be willing to pay such a fee you’d think.
His performance levels have gone downhill ever since leaving Tottenham, so unless he can ensure those previous levels return then there won’t be too many suitors.
On the flipside, Eriksen does possess quality. Plus, he has over 100 caps for his country. But £27m does still seem a pricey deal for a player woefully short on form.
